1. Using FutureTrove

To use FutureTrove, you must create an account using your email address or Apple Sign-In. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your information up to date.

2. Subscriptions and Payments

FutureTrove offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed through Apple's App Store as auto-renewable subscriptions.

• Free Plan — Record one video entry every 6 months
• Quarterly Plan — Record one video entry every 3 months
• Monthly Plan — Record one video entry every month
• Extra Video Credits — One-time purchases that allow additional video recordings beyond your plan limit

Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then.

All payments are processed by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information. Refund requests must be directed to Apple through the App Store. Prices may change, and we will notify you of any changes before they take effect.

3. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in FutureTrove, including video recordings, text notes, and any other materials you submit ("Your Content").

By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content as necessary to provide the Services. This includes:

• Storing your videos and text entries in our cloud infrastructure
• Transcribing audio from your videos using third-party transcription services
• Processing your transcripts and text entries with AI services to generate Life Trove summaries
• Displaying Your Content back to you within the App

We will not share, sell, or publicly display Your Content. Your Content is only accessible to you through your authenticated account.

4. Recording Windows and Entry Locking

FutureTrove uses a time-based recording system. Each subscription plan allows you to record a video entry at specific intervals (monthly, quarterly, or every 6 months). Video entries can be set to "unlock" at a future date of your choosing, after which they become viewable.

Recording windows are based on your subscription plan. If you do not record during a period, that window passes and a new one begins. Extra video credits can be purchased for additional recordings beyond your plan's allowance.

5. AI-Generated Content

FutureTrove offers an AI-powered "Life Trove" feature that generates summaries based on your entries. These summaries are generated using third-party AI services (OpenAI). AI-generated content is provided for personal reflection and entertainment purposes only.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI-generated content. You should not rely on AI-generated summaries for any important decisions.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any illegal purpose
• Upload content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or violates the rights of others
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Services
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
• Use the Services to build a competing product

7. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon account deletion, your personal data and content will be permanently removed from our systems.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that is harmful to the Services or other users. If we terminate your account, you will not be entitled to a refund of any subscription fees.

Deleting the App from your device does not cancel your subscription. You must actively cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings.

8. Intellectual Property

The FutureTrove App, including its design, code, branding, and features, is owned by FutureTrove and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or its content without our prior written consent.

9. Disclaimer

FutureTrove is a personal video diary and reflection tool. It is not a backup service, and while we take reasonable measures to protect your data, we cannot guarantee that your content will never be lost. We recommend keeping personal copies of any content that is important to you.

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FutureTrove shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services, whether based on contract, tort, strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the federal or state courts located in California.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If we make significant changes, we may notify you through the App or by email.
